Hurricanes
I hate hurricanes with a passion. I was a victim of Hurricane Katrina and this hurricane changed my life tremendously. When the hurricane was reported to be coming nobody expected it to be much of a big deal, but turned out to make a disaster place in our history today. I am from Bogalusa, Louisiana, a place that was hit very hard by the hurricane, so when I here about another hurricane coming I have flashbacks on Katrina and get bad ideas that the same thing could happen all over again. From the power outages to the scarcity of food and water, a hurricane is nothing that you ever will want to go through.
Now they Hurricane Gustav is reported to move into the gulf this weekend and I cant stop worrying about it. Regardless of whether it will effect my school or not, it will most definitely effect my home in Louisiana. All I can do is pray and hope that we get a break this time along the gulf coast. We have been through so much along the Gulf Coast of Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama.
If this hurricane is severe then I really hate it for the class of 2008. The reason why I say this is because I would hate for the freshmen students, such as me, to have our semester postponed because of a storm. I am just starting to get use to college life now and for a hurricane to come would be a interference to me and other students around the effected area. Like after Katrina people were displaced everywhere around the nation and for students to have to leave the colleges they chose to go to would be a heartbreak for some students. Thats why I ask the lord if there is and anything that can be done then do it.
